The engineer will provide hands‑on oversight to ensure wiring layout quality, device placement accuracy, and proper implementation of electrical systems throughout the production lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Design Coordination & Documentation

  • Collaborate with engineering teams during early design phases to determine optimal equipment placement and ensure ease of access and maintenance.
  • Maintain and distribute the most current versions of electrical drawings to production teams, ensuring outdated revisions are not used.
  • Review proposed changes to electrical drawings and assist in evaluating their technical impact.
  • Update electrical drawings (e.g., AutoCAD) to reflect approved deviations or as‑built conditions.

Production Support

  • Work closely with production teams to plan routing of conduit, cables, and junction boxes.
  • Assist in assessing proposed deviations from electrical drawings, ensuring changes improve safety, performance, or serviceability.
  • Document all approved modifications during the build process to maintain accurate as‑built records.
  • Troubleshoot electrical wiring and layout issues encountered during production.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Perform point‑to‑point wiring tests and other relevant verification procedures.
  • Compare test results to design documentation and ensure alignment with specifications.
  • Support third‑party testing and respond to questions regarding wiring layout and device configuration.
  • Validate test findings and incorporate required updates into final documentation.

Technical Support & Communication

  • Provide input on needed electrical or electronic components required during production.
  • Assist in developing accurate electrical functionality descriptions and instructions for user manuals.
  • Communicate clearly across engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure alignment throughout the project timeline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design within the power or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of power systems, protection, and control.
  • Proficiency in creating and editing electrical drawings using AutoCAD or similar tools.
