Data Center Manager, Data Center Operations

Job Description

As a Data Center Manager at Amazon, you will manage the world’s largest cloud computing infrastructure, drive operations excellence, and lead high‑performing engineering teams. You will refine processes, build and operate data centers, and maintain relationships with internal teams and external vendors.

• Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise.
• Maintaining existing data centers and building and bringing new data centers online.
• Continuously improving all processes and procedures to achieve operational excellence.
• Managing relationships with external vendors and contractors.
• Liaising with internal teams and management groups.
• Ensuring adherence to and exceeding local health and safety standards.
• Creating and using metrics to drive positive changes.
• Assisting in implementing service methodologies, including incident, problem, change, and capacity management.

• 4+ years of technical team management experience.
• 4+ years in a data center technology role or with networking or computer hardware.

• Experience in technical writing in a relevant field.
• 2+ years of data center experience.
• Experience contributing to the definition and implementation of automation opportunities in an operations environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, overnight, and weekends.
• Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
