At Amazon, we’re building the most customer‑centric company on earth. The Data Center Community is looking for an extraordinary individual with proven leadership and management skills to serve as a Data Center Operations (DCO) Cluster Manager in the metro Atlanta area.

As a senior management role, you will lead a large organization, managing managers who own data center infrastructure and ensuring the operational availability of network and server systems  will shape strategy, drive excellence, and lead large teams by example while rolling up sleeves for tactical needs.

• Lead and supervise a team of Data Center Managers (3‑9 area and front‑line managers) and 100‑150 hourly associates within Regional Data Centers
• Attain organizational performance goals and objectives related to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency in support of data center operations
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures
• Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals
• Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; resolve problems; and address staffing needs
• Obsess over team learning and development, both technical/functional and soft skills, including mentoring and training
• Develop, improve, and share operational best practices across the globe
• Hire, manage, and develop the operations management team, including data center managers and operations technicians
• Plan and execute the Infrastructure Operations component of new AWS data center build‑outs, colocation build‑outs, expansions, and network/server rack infrastructure to facilitate daily operations
• Experience in successful in sourcing and/or outsourcing specific tasks balancing internal skillsets with frugality
• Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools

A typical day at Amazon is variable; the business changes constantly. This role requires working with global partners and managing local leaders, balancing time between global and local spaces and adjusting priorities as needed.

• 5+ years of managing managers experience
• Experience in team management with 5 or more direct reports
• Experience managing large teams of 150 people or more
• Experience in the tech industry or equivalent
• Candidates must be U.S. Citizens at time of application for this role

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of work in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation experience
• Experience working in data centers emphasizing building and equipment operation
