Maintenance & Facilities Specialist

Description

Devereux is seeking an experienced Maintenance Specialist willing to learn trade skills and basic maintenance knowledge in HVAC, electrical, light construction, safety inspections, OSHA, and hospital regulations.

As a Maintenance Specialist you will be expected to work independently and demonstrate a thorough understanding of trade skills necessary for operation within the department and center.

• Maintain equipment and tools in proper working conditions and ensure proper storage.
• Use time and materials efficiently.
• Select and request materials required to perform assignments.
• Complete work order documentation timely and accurately.
• Keep work and shop areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Perform comprehensive maintenance duties including carpentry, electrical work, lawn care, painting, patching/plastering, plumbing, welding, HVAC, and locksmith work.
• Lead maintenance staff on projects related to technical expertise.
• Acquire proper materials under supervision, identify needs, and recommend alternative solutions.
• Keep annual training and certifications up to date.

• High School Diploma or equivalent; must be 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license.
• At least one year of semi-skilled maintenance and repair experience in carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, fire alarm, locksmith, mechanics, and general trades.

• Complete a 2‑week paid training program (8:30‑5:30 pm) on our Kennesaw campus.
• Undergo background checks and comply with drug‑free workplace policies.

All maintenance personnel will be fit‑tested for an N95 mask. An N95 mask will be worn when working with children with infections. A medical evaluation will be completed unless exempt under the standards.
