Chief of Police

The Town of New Hampton, NH is seeking a progressive, community-oriented Police Chief to lead this full-service police department (approx. budget $880K) consisting of the Chief of Police, four (4) full-time officers, and one (1) full-time Administrative Assistant. With approximately 2,400 residents, New Hampton is a quintessential Northern New England community in central New Hampshire. Located in the beautiful Lakes Region, New Hampton is just minutes from Lakes Winnipesaukee, Winnisquam, and Newfound with their abundant recreational opportunities.

With easy access to I-93, New Hampton is just 36 miles south of Franconia Notch with easy access to the ski resorts of the White Mountain region; 31 miles north of Concord, and 100 miles north of Boston . The Town is governed by a three-member Board of Selectmen with an appointed Town Administrator. A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, police administration or related field is preferred.

At least ten (10) years progressively responsible law enforcement with at least five (5) years in supervisory, command and administrative positions, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is required.
