Position Overview
Water/Wastewater Senior Construction Superintendent. Based in Hampton Roads, VA. Responsible for overseeing construction of water and wastewater facilities, including pumps, pipelines, and treatment plants.
Responsibilities- Monitor contractor operations to ensure compliance with plans, contract terms and specifications.
- Inspect structural, mechanical, electrical, and site improvements work; coordinate schedules with the prime contractor and other agencies; review and monitor contractors' plan of operation; provide technical guidance to engineers on contractor submittals and schedules; advise contractors of violations and recommend adjustments to operations.
- Advise contractors on safety procedure violations and recommend adjustments to bring these into compliance.
- Participate in inspection of startup activities.
- Take field measurements and oversee materials testing, check equipment, maintain and review comprehensive project records including daily diaries, materials notebooks, as-built plans, progress schedules, work orders and monthly estimates.
- Associate’s degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred).
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in water and wastewater construction management or inspection.
- Relevant certifications for water- and wastewater-related construction management and inspection.
- Knowledge of current state and federal environmental laws and policies related to design and construction.
- Experience with alternative delivery methods (CMAR, DB, DBB) desired.
- Proficient in operating computer and field inspection equipment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Physical ability to stoop, bend, squat and lift up to 25 lbs; stand for long periods on varied surfaces.
- Ability to provide technical knowledge, interpret construction drawings and contract specifications, apply engineering principles to determine field adjustments, maintain detailed records, supervise materials testing, and communicate effectively with owner and contractor personnel.

Salary Range$97,000-$115,000 annually, based on skills, experience, location, and market conditions.
