DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide instruction and support with language arts objectives to small groups of K-3rd grade students.
- Participate in training sessions as required.
- Maintain accurate records of student data.
- Collaborate with teachers in written and oral formats, sharing information regarding student achievement.
- Assist in assessing and evaluating student achievement; modify and tailor instructional activities to reach achievement goals for individual students and targeted student groups.
- Administer assessment tools to assess student abilities related to desired educational goals, objectives, and outcomes.
- Perform clerical work related to instructional activities such as maintaining files of student work, sorting, filing, and duplicating instructional materials.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
- Associate's degree or qualifying score on the HCS IA Assessment test.
- Virginia License or eligibility for a Virginia License in K-3 preferred.
- Experience or education related to working with students in an instructional setting preferred.
- General knowledge of basic reading and writing subject matter.
- Basic instructional strategies knowledge preferred.
- Basic child learning and development principles knowledge preferred.
- Ability to apply basic instructional concepts and subject matter in a classroom environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students, faculty, and others.
- Ability to work with students with diverse backgrounds and diverse levels of educational achievement and ability.
