The Elementary Teacher is responsible for supporting student success by planning, preparing, and delivering lesson plans using instructional materials that facilitate active learning. The teacher will also develop schemes of work and assessments that align with the Consensus Curriculum and school expectations, and instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic role model who is passionate about sharing the Catholic faith and supporting the mission of St. Mary

Star of the Sea Catholic School, including the ability to guide student development and formation per the school’s mission and vision with compassion, understanding, and respect.

• Bachelor’s Degree and current Commonwealth of Virginia Teaching License
• Strong commitment to Catholic education
• Superior communication skills (written and spoken), interpersonal, organizational, and managerial skills, enthusiasm, positive attitude, flexibility, and hardworking
• Collaborative team player
