Teacher - Middle School Social Studies

Saint Mary Star of the Sea School is seeking a Middle School Social Studies Teacher. Eligible candidates should possess or be able to apply for a Virginia teacher license. The successful candidate should be passionate about sharing the Catholic faith, have experience in supporting students’ learning through world language developmentally appropriate educational activities and lessons, assessments, and hands‑on experiences. They must be capable of creating an inviting, meaningful, and excellent learning environment, work in partnership with other staff, parents, and students, communicate effectively, and demonstrate a commitment to advance the mission of the school.

• All permanent professional personnel employed at Saint Mary Star of the Sea School must have a degree and be willing to obtain either a VDOE license or VCEA certification in their content area by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Successful candidates will possess a strong commitment to Catholic education.
• Superior communication skills (both written and spoken).
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and managerial skills.
• Enthusiasm, a positive attitude, flexibility, and a collaborative, hardworking, team‑oriented approach.

Salary commensurate with experience and per Diocesan guidelines and Called to Work in Harmony.
