• Salary: $58,500–$101,105 (Step 0–30+), based on approved  salary scale. Final placement determined by verified years of creditable experience.

• Instruct elementary school students in reading through groups or targeted support to help them meet challenging State academic standards.
• Support implementation of the language arts curriculum and balanced literacy approach in collaboration with teachers.
• Collaborate within a Professional Learning Community model to expand student development of appropriate reading skills, knowledge, and interests.
• Instruct students through literacy groups as per division expectations.
• Support Collaborative Learning Teams in ongoing assessment, data collection, and analysis to support student mastery of standards.
• Complete all requirements as a Title I, Part A teacher.
• Develop and deliver lesson plans tailored to the needs and abilities of assigned students.
• Meet needs of identified students through co‑teaching models and small group instruction.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques and reading materials appropriate for age and skill level.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior and create a safe, orderly, effective learning environment.
• Participate in conferences as requested to report student progress.
• Assist with screening and evaluation of students in reading.
• Collaborate with others to identify instructional needs and develop and deliver professional development.
• Provide documentation for Student Intervention Team and child study process as needed.
• Maintain thorough records for assigned students.
• Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
• Analyze SOL, benchmark, and common assessment data to establish goals and monitor intervention.
• Attend staff development and other professional activities.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Title I Coordinator of Instruction or Principal.

• Possess or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license at the elementary level.
• At least 3 years of successful experience at the elementary level.
• Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of the needs of students requiring additional support in reading.
• Ability to instruct students in remedial reading.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and school administrators.
