Electrical Apprenticeship Instructor – Part Time
New Horizons Center for Apprenticeship & Adult Training is seeking a qualified Electrical Apprentice Instructor to teach Electrical RTI (Electrical Theory) for the Fall 2025–2026 school year. Courses are held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Woodside Lane Campus. Positions are appointed on a course‑by‑course basis each semester as needed.
ResponsibilitiesDesign, prepare and deliver curriculum for Electrical RTI students; conduct classroom and practical work; assess student progress, maintain a positive learning environment, and comply with all safety and legal requirements.
Requirements- At least 3 years of relevant experience in the electrical trade.
- Journeyman Level certification or higher and licensed Virginia Electrical contractor license or DPOR‑issued Journeyman or Master’s license in the specific craft area.
- Proficient use of computers and instructional technology (training will be provided).
- Strong written and oral communication skills; effective classroom management.
- Experience training adult learners, either in the field or classroom.
- Qualification to work legally in the United States; must provide documents verifying identity and eligibility upon employment.
- Clearance from a criminal records background check.
Hourly salary $32.00 – $45.00 per hour based on experience and Virginia DPOR license/certification. Part‑time position.
