We are seeking a Systems Engineer (Subject Matter Expert) to join our system engineering team. This role is responsible for a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities concerned with the implementation of system and event design, integration, and implementation. The ideal candidate will ensure requirements comply with government standards and meet mission objectives to sustain and modernize the CAOC-X platform and all supported events and activities.
This position translates high-level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed implementation requirements.
- Ensures requirements comply with government standards and meet mission objectives for the CAOC-X platform.
- Translate high-level product development strategies into system requirement specifications.
- Leads and/or participates in system conceptual design and concept documentation, reviews of hardware and software components to ensure applicability and traceability of requirements.
- Develops event-specific Engineering Plans/Annex K documents for all AOC WS formal tests and other CAOC-X events.
- Set up, installs, loads, configs, integrates, and troubleshoots multiple systems and network components.
- Applies security and accreditation principles for an Authority to Operate (ATO), Authority to Connect (ATC), or other RMF approvals.
- Hands‑on experience with Cisco UCS, Nexus switches, and VMware (ESXi, vCenter, VSAN), system interoperability requirements, and functional design.
- Deep understanding of Cyber Security principles (RMF, PPSM CAL, TEMPEST, CSSP, STIGs) and the ATO/ATC process.
- Knowledge of networking concepts including Firewalls, Routing, Switching, Fiber Cabling, and IP Addressing.
- Understanding physical, virtual, and cloud container environments (Citrix, VMWare, Rancher Government, RKE2).
- Familiarity with Cloud service providers.
- Understanding of Artificial Intelligence concepts, principles, and use cases.
- Highly desired familiarity with AOC WS C2 Systems: TBMCS, C2 Core Air, GCCS COP/I3, C2
WSPTT, GXPxplorer/iStore, JADOCS, JMPS MAF/CAF, GPL, TPG, JRE, JADSI, TRS, TDL PAM (LMMT), AFTRS.
- Proficiency in Instrumentation / Automation: using Power Shell, Ansible, etc.
- Hardware management:
Cisco UCS, Dell Power Edge Servers, HP/Dell Wyse Thin Clients, Net App Storage. - Virtualization: VMware and Rancher Experience.
- OS management:
Windows Server 2022, Windows 10+, and Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu). - Core Services administration:
Active Directory, Exchange, SCCM, Solar Winds, ACAS, Trelix HBSS ePO. - Citrix VDI administration (Store Front, Xen App/Xen Desktop, ZDC, Netscaler/ADC).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio.
- Ability to lead teams of technical and subject matter experts.
- Ability to manage complex system implementations and events.
- Ability to author and redline IT datacenter and event planning artifacts (e.g., System Engineering Plans).
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
- Ability to conduct technical reviews and evaluate engineering drawings for implementation.
- Excellent communication, briefing, and time management skills.
- Must have a Secret clearance with eligibility to upgrade to Top Secret/SCI.
- High School Diploma or GED with 12 years of experience or BS/BA with 8 years.
- Requirement:
Must meet DoD 8140.03 certification requirement – CompTIA Security
X, equivalent or higher.
- Must have 7 years’ experience in a relevant field.
- Must have experience with creating, evaluating, and implementing engineering drawings and performing technical designs and reviews.
- Must have experience performing technical reviews on materials solutions for acquisition purchase ordering.
- Experience with SIEM/SOAR Tools.
- Experience with AOC systems, architecture, and networking.
- Experience with system interoperability requirements and functional design.
- Experience with Zero Trust implementation is highly desired.
