Designs, develops, implements and oversees the organization's environmental, health and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with regulations | Responsibilities are within the Environmental Health and Safety Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines

• Acquires basic skills to perform routine tasks
• Develops understanding in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
• Works with close supervision
• Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

• Assists with implementing and maintaining company policies that adhere to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
• Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly.
• Assists with performing experiments and reports findings on environmental consequences of equipment, tools, and procedures.
• May also design, install, operate and maintain measuring apparatus to determine the level of pollutants involving air, land, and water.
• Supports in identifying, assessing and resolving problems concerning the environment.
• Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals.
• Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.

• Required education and experience: Attending a Vocational / Technical School or internal training program OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience or Skillset;
  No prior experience needed

• Preferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
• Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Environmental compliance. Safety best practices. Safety communications. Safety inspections. Safety training. Safety policies and procedures. Inspection documentation.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

No or very little travel likely.
