Job SummaryAs a Process Engineer you will be responsible for all the metallurgical/materials characteristics pertaining to the investment casting process and our products. This may involve both new development and production castings. You will be teamed up with a Product Engineer who will be responsible for the dimensional aspects of the process/product. The prime responsibility for this position is to engineer the highest yield and lowest overall cost product while meeting or exceeding all customer-defined quality requirements.
Strong communication skills are required.
Job Responsibilities
- Follow Howmet's Safety Regulations and work Rules Handbook along with all department specific safety requirements.
- Develop and debug processes for production and developmental castings.
- Actively pursue continuous improvement of existing processes.
- Supply technical support to customers and interact with them regarding technical concerns.
- Comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes but is not limited to regular attendance and some overtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. Effectively write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
- Resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with limited standardization. Interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to achieve goals.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Be motivated to continuously drive improvement in an assigned portfolio of parts.
- Leadership ability is desired; demonstrated leadership is a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.
- Position entails access to export-controlled items; applicant must be able to lawfully obtain access.
- Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering.
- Investment casting experience.
- Coursework or equivalent experience in basic statistical and analytical tools.
- Minimum of 3 years of engineering or related field work.
- Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Three-dimensional modeling and drafting experience in engineering or related coursework.
