Computational Fluid Dynamicist – NASA Langley, VA (CHARGE)
Responsibilities- Perform three‑dimensional numerical simulations of internal and external flows with multi‑species finite‑rate chemistry and accompanying grid generation.
- Develop engine and vehicle designs, determine performance and operability for ramjet/scramjet propulsion programs using cycle to Navier‑Stokes codes.
- MS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 2–5 years of work experience in computational fluid dynamics.
- Experience with commercial or government grid generation packages (e.g., Pointwise, Held enmesh) and flow solvers (VULCAN, Loci/CHEM, FUN3D, USM3D, OVERFLOW, CFD++).
- Experience with data visualization software such as TECPLOT.
- Background with CAD software and interpretation of high‑speed wind‑tunnel testing is preferred.
- U.S. citizenship required; security clearance will be needed.
