Overview
Yulista Solutions LLC is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic II to perform maintenance on aircraft based at NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, Virginia. The role includes troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining aircraft structural, mechanical, avionics, and electrical systems, as well as integrating and de‑integrating research test equipment.
Essential Functions- Perform maintenance on aircraft mechanical systems.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair structural and mechanical elements of the aircraft.
- Integrate and de‑integrate research test equipment on the aircraft.
- Utilize a variety of computers, hand, and mechanical tools to complete maintenance tasks.
- Provide oversight, direction, and training to others in aircraft maintenance tasks.
- Act as Designated Inspector (DSI) and document maintenance per NASA QA and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct FOD walks, maintain housekeeping, and follow tool control policies.
- Report missing, lost, or unattended tools, accidents, injuries, safety violations, or unsafe practices.
- Enter maintenance records accurately and verify work performed.
- Travel and deploy off‑site in support of NASA projects and other customer‑defined tasks.
- Assist with other related duties as required by the organization.
- Intermediate computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn additional software.
- Knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred.
- Experience with a wide variety of computers, hand, and mechanical tools, and ability to train others.
- Accurate data entry and ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong oral and technical writing communication skills.
- Professional customer‑service skills, including active listening, prompt service, and follow‑up.
- Strong decision‑analysis and problem‑solving skills with the ability to justify conclusions.
- Ability to communicate issues to management and follow corporate policies and procedures.
- Basic mathematical computing ability.
- High self‑motivation and capacity to work independently.
- Multi‑tasking ability.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience maintaining Boeing and Gulfstream corporate jet aircraft.
- Possession of personal aircraft mechanic hand tools and a roll‑around toolbox; toolboxes must be shielded and inventoried.
- Experience with structural repair fabrication.
- Valid driver’s license and U.S. Passport.
- Approval to deploy to CONUS and OCONUS sites.
- Minimum Government/Public Trust Clearance and ability to obtain and maintain it.
- Passability of pre‑employment physical, drug test, and NASA flight physical (P3 experience required).
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification is required; may be preferred or required depending on role.
