Electronics Technician Sr
Position Summary
U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management/infrastructure service organization, is seeking an Electronics Technician Sr. to work at our client site in Hampton, Virginia.
Qualified candidates will diagnose, repair, fabricate, and maintain a variety of complex electronic, electromechanical and traffic control equipment such as instrumentation, telemetry, computers, video, fiber optics, security equipment, traffic signals and associated control equipment.
Duties Include- Provide technical support by installing, repairing, maintaining, programming and modifying devices and equipment associated with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and other traffic control systems, including traffic signal controllers, fiber optics, wireless, twisted pair and IP over Ethernet communication technologies and networks.
- Maintain and troubleshoot communication, video and network transportation–related electronic devices and equipment, and perform preventive maintenance of all ITS devices such as dynamic/changeable message signs, closed‑circuit television cameras, pan‑zoom‑tilt devices, encoders, decoders, Ethernet switches, PLCs and other related devices.
- Apply key concepts in electronic theory.
- Assist Traffic System Technicians and Traffic Signal Technicians as required and perform related work as directed.
- Read and work from plans, schematics, and displays.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Diagnose, locate, and repair defective devices.
- Use electronic test equipment, fiber optics test equipment, hand and power tools.
- Operate a personal computer.
- Climb communication towers to repair cameras and communication equipment.
- Operate a variety of motor vehicles and trucks, including platform or bucket trucks.
- Respond to emergency call back during scheduled off‑hours.
- Perform any other duties assigned by a supervisor and/or USF Senior Project Manager.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong understanding of electronic theory.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- 90‑day probation period.
- Required VDOT/Industry training.
- Potential for significant periods of sitting or standing.
- May be subject to short or no‑notice work assignments.
- Monitored performance with routine evaluation.
- $25.00 - $35.00 hourly.

This position is designed as essential, and all duties are required during emergency situations, which may include but are not limited to inclement weather, disaster response and emergency operations. VDOT/Project Management will determine when essential positions are required.
Valid driver's license required. DMV records check is required. Pre‑employment drug screen is required. Fingerprint‑based Criminal History Records Check is required.
