Develops, designs, builds and tests robotic platforms from prototype through product commercialization. Creates an integrated autonomous interface, mobility, communication, and human-robot interaction. Works with cross-functional teams to understand opportunities for robotic applications.

• Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
• Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
• Works with close supervision
• Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

• Assists with the development and implementation of automation systems or components.
• Supports or performs the program installation, testing, and maintenance of robots or automated components.
• Assists in the commissioning and deployment of new automation installations, conducts field trials to ensure appropriate operation, and prepares reports or records documenting actions or findings.
• Investigates and troubleshoots defects or bugs, completes repairs and provides preventative maintenance.
• Maintains the inventory of supplies and tools used for testing and maintenance.

• Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience

• Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
• Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Detail oriented. Problem-solving skills. Mathematical skills. Computer skills. Technical skills. Technical troubleshooting. Test documentation. Control systems.

• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/&or operate machinery.
• May be requested to work a different shift.
• Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.

No or very little travel likely.
