Position OverviewThe Hampton Structural Castings (HSC) location is seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to support manufacturing excellence. The Facilities Mechanical Engineer reports directly to the Facility Engineering Team Leader and provides technical engineering services and project management to support production, maintenance and administrative functions.
Responsibilities- Apply engineering principles to design, modify or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment or processes used in manufacturing and facility maintenance.
- Manage capital and expense projects: develop scopes and budgets, maintain quality communications, completion schedules and regulatory requirements.
- Specify new production equipment or modifications to existing equipment.
- Develop functional specifications.
- Work with suppliers and contractors on procurement and implementation of production equipment and infrastructure support.
- Test newly installed machines and equipment to meet contract specifications.
- Provide maintenance engineering and troubleshooting assistance.
- Generate contract scope of work documents and cost estimates.
- Oversee contractor work and monitor safe work practices.
- Serve as single point accountable person for EHS policies.
- Comply with Company, Federal and State EHS policies.
- Occasional travel required.
Anticipated Pay Range: $90 000 – $100 000 per year. Pay rates within this range are determined based on experience, education, certifications and other factors.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical project engineering and plant maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position entails access to export‑controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor design software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems in diverse industrial environments.
- Ability to rapidly grasp concepts and understand processes.
- Multitasking ability.
- Familiarity with a wide variety of facility infrastructure systems.
- Experience with Investment Casting.
