Position: SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER with Security Clearance
Duties
* Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Engineering Flight.
* Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
* Represents the Engineering Flight with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
* Establishes, defines, and implements requirements for the Engineering Flight activities to ensure services and functions are in line with organizational goals and mission requirements. Requirements Conditions of employment

* This is a Centrally Managed Position in the General Engineering Career Field. PCS will be paid in accordance with JTR Vol. 2 and applicable Air Force Regulations.
* This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
* Employee must maintain current certifications
* Disclosure of Political Appointments
* Advance in hire may be authorized if there is demonstrable proof provided on your resume
* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* The work will require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required.
* This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions. IAW, DoDI 3020-42, Defense Continuity Programs.
* This position may be designated mission essential based on local conditions. Mission essential personnel report for duty at normal times when the base is closed or delayed reporting, and remain on duty during phased or early release.
* This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program.
* Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
* Incumbent of this position is subject to the possibility of a random drug test.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. * "This is a Supervisory Position." A 1-year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.
* Selective Placement Factor: A current professional registration or license as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect in one of the 50 states or territories is required for this position. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Professional and Scientific Positions BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Degree:
Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships);

(c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.

The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:
1. Professional registration or licensure -- Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT) , or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
