Overview
Member Services Representative - Coliseum, Hampton, Virginia
. 1st Advantage Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a full-time Member Services Representative to support our Coliseum branch.
Schedule:
40 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays (twice a month) from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Open and close accounts including checking, savings, certificates, trusts, business, and organizational accounts; ensure proper documentation is used for account opening; provide disclosures in accordance with credit union policy; maintain accuracy and privacy of member information; complete maintenance requests on member accounts in a timely manner.
- Provide information to current, new, or potential members concerning membership eligibility, types of accounts, loan products, services, and member benefits. Actively listen and offer appropriate products and services; refer members to other areas/departments when needed; consistently meet or exceed performance goals for the Member Services Representative I position.
- Maintain knowledge of and adhere to credit union policies and procedures, with emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act.
- Build and retain membership; perform sales and courtesy calls to retain current membership and attract new business.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including Teller functions.
- Ensure member service functions are delivered professionally and in a timely manner, maintaining the credit union's reputation.
- Member service functions are performed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with policies, procedures, legal standards, and security procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledgeable understanding of credit union products and services, including all types of account offerings and consumer lending products.
- Develop knowledge of and consistently follow credit union products and services.
- Consistently achieve goals established for the position as documented on the credit union scorecard.
- Maintain dependable attendance and timeliness.
- Proactively demonstrate the 1st Advantage FCU core values of accountable, adaptable, driven, dependable, and fun.
- Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
- Education: A high school education or GED.

Skills:
Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for first-level conflict resolution, relationship building, and cooperation. Requires discretion and diplomacy in communication. - Other
Skills:
Basic knowledge of credit union information systems and accounting functions. Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations such as Regulation CC, Truth in Savings, Bank Secrecy Act, and the Patriot Act. Strong organizational, communication, and public relations skills; willingness to assist others. - Physical Requirements: Includes talking, hearing, finger dexterity, repetitive motion, visual acuity, and ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Sedentary work; occasional reaching and stretching.
Standard office work environment.
