Position: FOOD SERVICES SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Duties
* Plans, directs and accomplishes the operation and management of the Food Service Operations.
* Contract Officers' Representative and technical oversight over full food service contract.
* Prepares, coordinates and serves on the Base Menu Review Board and represents Installation food services at other boards and meetings.
* Develops a program for replacing equipment (five-year plan) and upgrading facilities. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain Food Handler's, and/or Serv Safe Manager's Certification, and/or any additional training requirements IAW AF and DoD guidance, within 6 months of assignment, if feasible.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.
* The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position.
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
* Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of agency food service contract management procedures and general business practices related to the management of Air Force food service contracts, knowledge and skill in directing the application and quality assurance of a Food Service Contract;

management principles, concepts, and methodologies appropriate thereto, and knowledge of Contract audit requirement and in overseeing and conducting regular; evaluating the results, determining the feasibility of necessary improvement and scheduling and coordinating the corrective actions. OR

EDUCATION:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., in a field directly related which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
