Chief, Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program

This position is located within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veteran Health Administration (VHA), VA Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN
6), Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center (HVAMC), under the Social Work Service Line. The incumbent serves as the Chief, Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (MHRRTP).

Develops and implements policies relating to all phases of Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program in coordination with various clinical, allied health and administrative services within the Medical Center.

Directly responsible for the planning, development, implementation, monitoring, evaluating and controlling of all program operations, including the Domiciliary Drug Abuse Program, the Compensated Work Therapy/Transitional Residencies Program;
Vocational Rehabilitation Therapy and Dom Case Management, Domiciliary Care for Homeless Veterans (ReHabitat), Medical Case Management, Long-Term Healthcare Maintenance, PTSD-DOM Program, Dom Operations, and any other DOM related program.

Operates as an experienced professional with full responsibility and accountability for the quality of patient evaluations and the soundness of treatment plans.

Provides administrative control and programmatic leadership for the specialized residential rehabilitation treatments within the Domiciliary, ensures a full range of professional and direct patient care services, utilizes a comprehensive range of clinical expertise and therapeutic modalities in the provision of biopsychosocial, rehabilitative and health maintenance services in bringing each patient to an optimal level of functional independence and health.

Responsible for the public health and safety of all MHRRTP patients and ensures that the building space for the Domiciliary is in full compliance with all safety and security regulations.

Ensures compliance with increasingly complex procedures and statutes in licensing, clinical privileging, and continuing professional education.

Ensures that the high quality domiciliary-based treatment programs and services remain consistent with the evolving health care needs of the total veteran patient population.

Responsible for ensuring that the residential rehabilitation program achieves and maintains full accreditation status with accrediting bodies such as The Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and effective utilization of all structures and relationships within and relating to the Domiciliary.

Pay:
Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).

Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.

Parental Leave:
After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.

Child Care Subsidy:
After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66
