Banquet Server

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Banquet Server at the Hampton Roads Convention Center.

As a Banquet Server, you will support the Food & Beverage Manager and Banquet Captain in delivering exceptional service at events, ensuring seamless setup, service, and cleanup while maintaining professional appearance and grooming standards.

• Report for work in proper uniform according to the scheduled time.
• Follow instructions for each event as given by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Banquet Captain.
• Assist with collecting banquet equipment including flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces for each event.
• Assist with preparing garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads.
• Assist with cleaning and filling salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, and creamers.
• Assist with preparation and set‑up of the event room when necessary.
• Prepare tables with place settings as instructed by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Banquet Captain.
• Attend pre‑function meeting to receive briefing of event details.
• Provide friendly and courteous customer service at all times.
• Remain at assigned station and perform duties according to each event.
• Report any customer concerns and/or complaints to the Banquet Captain.
• Break down tables and banquet equipment after each event.
• Clean and return serving pieces to proper storage.
• Adhere to strict grooming standards and company policies.
• Follow service standards, procedures, and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary.

• Minimum of 6 months work experience in a service‑oriented environment.
• Knowledge of catering services and terminology.
• Strong guest service skills.
• Ability to receive and carry out instructions in a timely manner.
• Requires flexible schedule to cover events.

Employees must be able to move around the facility, stand for long hours during events, talk and hear, perform repetitive eye/hand coordination, lift and carry up to 25 lbs. above shoulder level for up to 5 minutes at a time, and stand, walk, stoop, reach, and handle objects constantly. The position may require work inside or outside the building as needed by events.
