The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking a Human Resources Technician to support our Human Resources team by providing exceptional administrative support, maintaining confidential employee records, and assisting with recruitment and daily Human Resources operations.
What You ll DoAs a Human Resources Technician, you ll play an important role in supporting employees, applicants, and the Human Resources department by ensuring efficient and accurate Human Resources processes.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain confidential employment, medical, and personnel records in both electronic and paper files
- Enter and update employee information in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- Assist with recruitment by posting vacancies, coordinating interviews, scheduling candidates, and supporting reference checks
- Prepare correspondence, reports, job descriptions, policies, procedures, and other Human Resources documents
- Respond to employment and salary verification requests
- Provide outstanding customer service to employees, applicants, and visitors by answering routine Human Resources questions and directing inquiries appropriately
- Assist with filing, mail distribution, bulk mailings, copying, and maintaining office supplies
- Prepare purchase requisitions, wellness subsidy reports, and routine statistical reports
- Support special Human Resources projects and administrative functions as assigned
- One (1) year of administrative support experience in a Human Resources environment.
- Experience should include managing employment records, ensuring confidentiality in daily tasks, and engaging with both the public and employees.
- Proficiency in computer skills is essential.
