AI/RPA Solutions Architect
Overview
Koniag IT Systems LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an AI/RPA Solutions Architect with a TS/SCI security clearance to support KITS and our government customer at Langley Air Force Base, VA. The AI/RPA Solutions Architect is a technical leadership role responsible for designing, prototyping, and transitioning artificial intelligence and robotic process automation solutions that deliver measurable mission value across Air Combat Command. The role requires deep technical expertise in AI/ML, hands-on development capabilities, and the ability to translate complex operational requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant solutions across multiple classification levels.
Position DifferentiationTwo specialized positions ensure parallel development pipelines:
- Position 1 (NIPRNet Architect) focuses on unclassified and CUI solutions, enabling rapid prototyping, broader user access, and cross-organizational knowledge sharing.
- Position 2 (SIPRNet/AFSCI Architect) focuses on classified solutions operating in Secret (SIPRNet) and Top Secret (AFSCI) environments, addressing intelligence, operational planning, and mission-critical applications requiring higher security.
- Position 1: NIPRNet Solutions Architect
- Focus on unclassified and CUI solutions with broad ACC enterprise applicability
- Administrative automation, logistics optimization, training tools, knowledge management
- Prototypes that can be widely shared, demonstrated, and refined with a large user base
- Typical use cases include automated report generation, natural language querying, training content generation, administrative workflow automation, and knowledge base search
- Environment: primary work on NIPRNet systems; office at JBLE with standard IT access; travel to ACC wings for training and engagement; collaboration with broader DAF and joint community
- Clearance: TS/SCI required for access to program information; day-to-day work primarily unclassified
- Position 2: SIPRNet/AFSCI Solutions Architect
- Focus on classified solutions for intelligence, operational planning, and mission-critical applications
- ISR operations support, targeting, mission planning, intelligence analysis
- Compartmented solutions for AFSCI environments with strict access controls
- Environment: work in SCIFs and secure facilities; access to SIPRNet and AFSCI; on-site work at ISR Wings; limited telework
- Clearance: TS/SCI required and actively used; currency maintenance; may require additional compartmented accesses
Essential Job Functions
- AI/RPA Solution Design and Architecture (40%)
- Prototype Development: design and develop AI/ML and RPA prototypes addressing operational challenges; translate user requirements into technical specifications
- Leverage enterprise-approved AI platforms and RPA tools to build prototypes
- Develop solutions including automation, decision support, knowledge management, and data analysis; maintain 3-6 concurrent prototypes
- Conduct rapid prototyping cycles (4-6 weeks) and ensure scalability, maintainability, and government sustainment
- Technical Architecture
- Define solution architectures; design data pipelines, APIs, and middleware
- Ensure compliance with DoD Dev Sec Ops and cloud-native principles; document architectures
- Assess feasibility and evaluate AI/RPA platforms
- Classification-Specific Responsibilities
- NIPRNet Architect: focus on accessible, cross-domain prototypes and broad applicability
- SIPRNet/AFSCI Architect: focus on IL5/IL6 security, compartmentalization, and ISR/operational use cases
- Transition and Validation
- User validation and testing in collaboration with end-users
- Document results, perform post-transition support, and ensure mission alignment
- Transition successful prototypes to sustained operational use with defined packages and training
- ROI and Quality Assurance
- Document ROI, monitor performance, and maintain transitioned solution portfolio
- Ensure security reviews, DoD data handling compliance, and quality standards
Technical Advisory and Consultation (20%)
- Engage ACC leadership and stakeholders on AI/RPA capabilities
- Participate in governance and planning forums; provide platform recommendations and roadmaps
- Assess emerging AI/ML technologies for ACC applications
- Demonstrate capabilities to stakeholders
- Use Case Identification and Prioritization
- Collaborate with ACC HQ and operational units to identify high-value use cases
- Conduct discovery, evaluate technical feasibility and ROI, and maintain a backlog
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with training, security, and platform vendors; share reusable components
- Engage with MAJCOM AI/RPA teams and participate in DoD-wide communities
