Role SummaryWe are seeking a Technology Support Specialist to perform a variety of complex, skilled and technical work for Information Systems and technologically support staff. This position will perform a variety of technological functions, which includes the functionalities of the Local Area Computer Network (LAN), guidance, support, consultation and training for users.
Core Responsibilities- Communicates and coordinates repairs, updates and alerts with local data processing departments and the State Department of Social Services as required.
- Assures the network and its applications are available to users.
- Be accessible to remote staff.
- Resolve user problems as required.
- Respond to a variety of inquiries related to information technology operations.
- Takes corrective action as necessary to include analyzing problems.
- Reset passwords to state and local applications.
- Manage, maintain, and inventory computer, electronic and telecommunications equipment.
- Serve as the local agency Security Officer for all local and state applications.
- Maintain logs or other mechanisms to track and manage requests from end users for system security.
- Manage and maintain the local agency financial systems; i.e., Kinship and New World (Tyler Munis).
- Use problem solving techniques to resolve problems which might involve any combination of operator error or software anomaly.
- Advise and/or recommend electronic equipment that would be compatible for operations.
- Conduct new employee orientation and train staff on state and local applications.
- Respond to federal, state and local audits.
- Implement recommendations as deemed necessary.
- Manage electronic asset purchases, tracking and disposal of capital expenses.
- Train new employees, including ongoing training of new processes and procedures.
- Answer complaints and track resolutions of the same.
- Complete other technical responsibilities to include the installation, operation, application and maintenance of various types of information/communications technologies and the performance of routine analysis, program designs, coding and related systems analysis tasks.
- Be responsible for exceptional and routine operations.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Processing, or a related field required. Some computer work experience preferred. Some experience training personnel on the use of computers and software preferred.
Requirements- Must successfully pass a background check related to this position.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driver's record.
