Essential Job Functions
  • Manage all levels of system administration support for Workday HRMS.
  • Manage release and change management processes.
  • Manage upgrades and updates, coordinate database performance monitoring, and maintain system integrations.
  • Maintain software licenses, user access, security, and provide troubleshooting support.
  • Coordinate with Microsoft to resolve issues and provide administrative support for other ERP systems.
  • Assist with development and reporting efforts in Workday HRMS.
  • Work with functional and technical teams to gather requirements and design and develop modifications and extensions to the HRMS system.
  • Use Workday HRMS development and reporting tools to design, develop, test customizations, integrations, and create supporting documentation.
  • Perform maintenance and development work consistently with company standards and ensure ongoing security and support.
  • Manage records created and received in compliance with Hampton Roads Transit Records Management Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
  • Technical experience in Workday HRMS systems administration, configuration, and development.
  • Knowledge of Workday technical functions in HR, payroll, benefits, recruiting, or time reporting.
  • Logical troubleshooting of technical problems and strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Collaboration, analytical, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to mentor team members and share knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, self‑motivation, self‑direction, multitasking, quality orientation, flexibility, and commitment to on‑time completion of tasks.
Required Software Knowledge and Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows products (Excel, Word, Access).
  • Basic problem‑solving skills for software applications used in the role.
Training and Education

BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

Required Experience
  • 3+ combined years as a Workday HRMS system administrator.
  • 3+ years of proven expertise in system auditing for Workday HRMS solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience setting up and managing Workday HRMS integrations.
  • 3+ years of proven expertise in user authentication, user authorization, and data security.
  • 3+ years of proven development (or application extension) expertise.
  • 3+ years of proven experience creating custom reports using Workday HRMS reporting tools.
  • 4+ years of superior technical proficiency with SQL for data review, troubleshooting, user report development, and source‑system validation.
Licenses or Certificates
  • Valid driver’s license; must acquire a Virginia driver’s license within 60 days after hire if not already a resident.
