GDIT is seeking an enthusiastic Systems Administrator to support the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission of the Air Force at Langley AFB, VA. The role focuses on the Air Forces’ Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) Processing, Exploitation, Dissemination (PED) Operations Center (DOC).

• Ensure overall integration and upkeep of wide area network and enterprise management services, including servers, workstations, and network access accounting on the DCGS architecture.
• Manage mission data distribution servers to provide rapid file transfer across the WAN and to external customers.
• Administer enterprise IT services such as LDAP, NTP, DNS, Heart Beat Service (HBSS), and other unique systems specific to AF DCGS weapon systems.
• Provide network management of computer systems within the DOC‑East and DOC‑West.
• Integrate new projects into the DOC management architecture and the Distributed Processing Architecture (DPA).
• Install, configure, analyze, develop, test, modify and maintain solutions for operating systems, hardware, and application software to meet enterprise management and DPA integration requirements in accordance with established IT and government standards.
• Work independently and as part of a team, possessing knowledge of software licensing, Windows Active Directory, Group Policies, and DNS.
• Integrate datacenters into existing environments and harden systems based on STIGs and SCAP scans.
• Track and maintain all system authentication and accreditation dates for DOC systems.
• Maintain the security and integrity of databases (Oracle and others).
• Perform user account, group, and home directory maintenance for Unix and Windows workstations and servers, coordinating with DCGS Network Security (IA) as required.
• Analyze, develop, test, and modify hardware and software solutions to meet DOC management and DPA integration requirements.
• Review and provide system engineering change proposal (ECP) input to integration documentation.
• Review integration and operational products for correctness, adherence to design concepts, user standards, and progress in line with established IT and government standards.
• Define system objectives and prepare system design specifications to satisfy DPA and government requirements, including interface problems.
• Develop scripts to improve synchronization of data between DOC East and DOC West.
• Work directly with and support 480 ISR WG Network Engineers, providing technical solutions and expertise for DCGS‑wide system engineering efforts.
• Support the DOC Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in identifying and resolving security‑related issues.
• Prepare computer systems and provide support for DOC certification and accreditation.
• Provide input to the Monthly Status Report (MSR) detailing accomplishments and issues in performance of tasks.

• Minimum 7 years of Systems Administration experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Windows, Unix, Linux, VMware, LDAP, NTP, DNS, and Active Directory.
• Possess IAT Level II Security Plus certification and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA). MCSA may substitute for 4 years of enterprise systems administration experience.
• Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) clearance required; must be able to obtain and maintain.
• US citizenship required.
• Potential for shift work (including nights, weekends, or holidays).

Location:

Langley AFB, VA (USA). Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

Travel required:

less than 10%. Telecommuting options: onsite work. Compensation range: $93,500 – $126,500, determined by experience, location, and contractual requirements.
