Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Elastic Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support a high-visibility federal cybersecurity program focused on platform reliability, observability, and mission-critical infrastructure operations. The Elastic Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for supporting enterprise Elastic environments, driving platform performance and scalability, and maintaining secure observability solutions across classified environments. This position is onsite in either Hanscom AFB, MA or Langley AFB, VA.
Responsibilities of the Elastic Site Reliability Engineer include:
* Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise Elastic Stack environments supporting logging, search, observability, and telemetry operations
* Ensure platform reliability, scalability, uptime, and performance across production systems
* Manage Kubernetes-based Elastic deployments, including Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK)
* Develop and maintain automation for deployments, monitoring, alerting, and incident response workflows
* Integrate Elastic platforms with SIEM, EDR, and security monitoring solutions
* Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, application, and distributed systems issues
* Support observability initiatives including logging, metrics, tracing, and monitoring frameworks
* Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
* Develop and maintain operational runbooks, technical documentation, and support procedures
* Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities
Qualifications for the Elastic Site Reliability Engineer include:
* 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Dev Ops, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Operations
* Strong hands-on experience supporting Elastic Stack in enterprise production environments
* Experience managing Kubernetes environments, including ECK deployments
* Strong Linux/Unix administration experience
* Experience supporting observability, telemetry, logging, and monitoring platforms
* Familiarity with distributed systems architecture and performance optimization
* U.S. Citizenship required
* Ability to obtain or maintain an active Secret clearance
* Ability to work onsite in Hanscom AFB, MA or Langley AFB, VA
Preferred Qualifications:
* Secret Clearance Required
* Elastic certifications (Engineer, Observability, or Security)
* Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code
* Experience with SIEM and EDR platforms such as Splunk, Crowd Strike, or Trellix
* Experience supporting federal, DoD, Gov Cloud, or classified environments
* Experience with CI/CD pipeline automation and Dev Sec Ops practices
Compensation for the Elastic Site Reliability Engineer includes:
* Salary: $180,000 - $200,000
