Database Manager
We need an experienced Database Manager / Alternate Information Owner to support the 441st Vehicle Support Chain Operations Squadron (441 VSCOS). 441 VSCOS centrally manages the Department of the Air Force’s (DAF) vehicle fleet enterprise, providing program management, technical, and training support across 257 steady-state and contingency locations and 387 units, including Combat Air Force, Mobility Air Force, and ISR aircraft units, through the ELMS, AVID, and CISP application systems.
In this role, you will lead daily ELMS data cleansing and integrity troubleshooting, migrate legacy data into ELMS, and support requirements gathering and documentation for ELMS sustainment. This is a full‑time opportunity. We can offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
- Conduct daily data cleansing of ELMS data
- Provide weekly data cleansing reports on the accuracy of data
- Convert legacy data contained in systems other than ELMS and migrate it into ELMS using commercially acceptable means (e.g., Microsoft Access) with pre-built reference tables
- Continue to update authorizations, assets, and UICs in ELMS to maintain currency
- Assist with fielding and resolving data-call issues
- Troubleshoot database issues and analyze database integrity issues
- Maintain database updates, resolve known issues in a timely and effective manner, and elevate new issues to the system Program Office via help tickets or system change requests
- Support troubleshooting and develop data solutions to address policy changes affecting Vehicle Fleet Management data requirements
- Report on Date of Last Inspection (DOLI) progress toward 100 percent completion of the vehicle fleet, trending within two percent deviation
- Support requirements gathering, testing, custom application development, legacy application modernization, and documentation for ELMS sustainment
- 4 to 6 years of database management or data governance experience, preferably within a DoW or federal environment
- Experience with data migration, data cleansing, and legacy system conversion
- Working knowledge of ELMS or comparable property/asset accountability systems preferred
- Strong analytical skills for identifying and resolving data integrity issues
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, data management, or related field; equivalent experience considered
