Security Architect

GovCIO LLC seeks a Security Architect to design, implement, and optimize secure architectures for defense and aerospace IT and cybersecurity environments. In this role, you'll shape enterprise security strategies, conduct threat modeling and risk assessments, and integrate controls across cloud, network, and on-prem systems supporting federal missions. Partnering with agile engineering teams, you'll embed security into Dev Sec Ops  pipelines while evaluating emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain secure architectures for defense and aerospace IT and cyber systems
• Develop and implement enterprise security controls aligned to NIST, RMF, and Do
• D standards
• Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and security impact analyses for new solutions
• Partner with engineering and operations teams to embed security into system design and Dev
• Sec
• Ops pipelines
• Lead security reviews, architecture boards, and remediation planning for high risk findings
• Evaluate and integrate emerging security technologies to strengthen federal mission systems
• Produce security documentation, diagrams, and technical guidance for stakeholders and auditors
• Mentor junior cybersecurity staff and contribute to a culture of continual learning and innovation
