Assistant Floor Tech Supervisor

Position Summary: The Assistant Floor Tech Supervisor supports the Floor Tech Supervisor in overseeing daily floor care operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency. This role combines hands‑on expertise with leadership to guide floor tech staff, maintain equipment, and uphold facility standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising floor care staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely
• Train new team members on the proper use of equipment and cleaning techniques
• Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment; report needs to the supervisor
• Perform floor maintenance tasks, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards
• Conduct quality checks and provide feedback to team members
• Support scheduling and shift coverage as needed
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, staff, and facility management

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in custodial services preferred
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in floor care or custodial services
• Familiarity with floor care equipment (buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and work on feet for extended periods
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and proper chemical handling
