Shipping Clerk – Howmet Aerospace
Howmet Aerospace – world leader in investment casting of superalloys, aluminum and titanium for jet aircraft and industrial gas turbine markets.
Location:
Hampton, Virginia – 2nd shift, M-F 2pm-10pm. Training 1st shift M-F 7am-3pm.
Coordinate activities of workers verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment weekly. Establish and coordinate departmental activities to meet objectives aligned with plant goals.
Responsibilities- Follow Howmet’s Safety Regulations and Work rules Handbook and all departmental specific safety requirements.
- Use Oracle (EBS) and OCHMS (Lot Trace) in the shipping office; input part data and maintain correct information in lot trace system.
- Monitor inventory in shipping and work with production planning to ensure parts are shipped in a timely manner.
- Prepare and send invoices to customers and prepare documentation for parts to customers.
- Prepare documentation for miscellaneous shipments; prepare bills of lading and air bills.
- Packs small UPS/Fed Ex shipments and assists dock workers packing castings (when needed).
- File as required; maintain proper filing system.
- Mobile equipment certified preferred (walk‑behind pallet jack & forklift).
- Hold partial responsibility for the shipping department in the absence of the supervisor.
- High school diploma or general education degree.
- One to three years of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; interpret bar graphs.
- Common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form; solve problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility required; visa sponsorship not available.
- Employment conditioned upon lawful access to export‑controlled items.
