Production Sr Operator

Production Sr Operator Responsibilities for this Position

• Operates, tests, and monitors assigned equipment according to established guidelines.
• Observes operation of equipment and documents maintenance needs.
• Troubleshoots control panels, error lights, and messages to ensure proper equipment function.
• Communicates with equipment technicians regarding highly complex issues.
• Verifies equipment data for reporting.
• Supports and assists with installation of operating equipment.
• Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete more complex tasks.
• Assists with training other machine operators.
• Calculates and assists with numeric controlled programming.

• Requires proficiency through job‑related training and considerable on‑the‑job experience.
• May act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.
• Completes work with a limited degree of supervision and regularly provides guidance to others.
• Performs manual tasks according to established procedures.

• High School Diploma/GED required and 3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

• Vocational/Technical Training Degree.
• Written communication skills; ability to gather and document information.
• Ability to lift/move heavy objects.
• Mechanical knowledge; safety knowledge.

• Regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• May be requested to work a different shift, including outside normal business hours.
• This position is Safety‑Sensitive.
