CNC Machinist - HAAS Gantry Mill

We are seeking an experienced HAAS Gantry Mill Operator to set up and operate large-format CNC gantry milling machines to produce precision components to customer specifications. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to safely handle large parts in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders
- Set up and operate HAAS gantry mills for large-part machining
- Load, align, and secure large work pieces using fixtures, clamps, and rigging equipment
- Select, install, and set tooling, offsets, and work coordinates
- Monitor machining operations and adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets as needed
- Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools
- Make minor program edits at the machine (HAAS control) as required
- Identify tooling wear and replace inserts or tools as needed
- Use overhead cranes or hoists to safely move materials and finished parts
- Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or vocational training in CNC machining preferred
- 2–3+ years of CNC machining experience, preferably on large-format or gantry mills
- Experience operating HAAS CNC controls strongly preferred
- Experience with large-part setup, alignment, and fixturing
- Basic computer skills
- Strong understanding of CNC milling processes, especially large-part machining
- Familiarity with HAAS controls, offsets, and basic program edits
- Knowledge of tooling, cutting strategies, feeds, and speeds for various materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and complex part drawings
- Experience with precision measurement and tight tolerance work
- Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and rigging equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of working independently after training
- Standard work week with flexibility for 8- or 10-hour shifts
