Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing leadership in manufacturing excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction and continuous improvement of responsible areas’ performance measurements (quality, productivity, cycle time, delivery, and cash flow). The supervisor will coordinate activities of team leaders and workers engaged in production, establish departmental activities to meet objectives, and align them with plant goals and business metrics.

Essential Functions and

Job Responsibilities
  • The Production Supervisor follows all Howmet safety regulations, work rules and departmental requirements.
  • The Production Supervisor records data manually or by computer as required and examines castings and products at various stages for conformance to internal and external specifications.
  • They observe machines and equipment for malfunction, order adjustments or repairs, and direct workers to make necessary adjustments.
  • They study production schedules, estimate worker hour requirements, and explain company policies and EHS responsibilities to employees.
  • They conduct employee training, facilitate incident prevention techniques, and engage in self‑inspections with verification of compliance.
  • They explain specifications and job orders to workers, assign duties, and establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • The supervisor recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality, and suggests changes to increase shop or department efficiency.
  • They analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving them, and initiate plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.
  • They maintain time and production records.
  • They estimate, requisition, and inspect materials, coordinating with other supervisors to align departmental activities.
  • The supervisor establishes project plans for continuous improvement initiatives and makes recommendations for employee status changes (hiring, terminations, promotions).
  • They resolve grievances and employee relations issues, complete performance evaluations, and administer corrective actions as required.
  • The supervisor trains and mentors team leaders and complies with all company attendance policies and guidelines, including regular attendance and occasional overtime.
  • They maintain measurement and metrics for departmental performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of three years related manufacturing experience in a leadership role.
  • Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility verification required a sponsorship is not available.
  • Position entails access to export-controlled items and requires lawful access.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Business or Management related field.
