Job Description

Looking for hands on work that offers more variety than a typical production or warehouse position?

Join Central Valley Ag at our Hampton Corn Cleaning Plant, a specialized facility where food-grade corn is received, cleaned, color-sorted, packaged, and shipped by truck, rail, and bulk tote. As an Operations team member, you will learn multiple parts of the operation—from grain receiving and equipment monitoring to quality control, shipping, cleaning, and preventive maintenance.

This is not a single-station production job. Your responsibilities may shift throughout the day based on receiving, processing, packaging, maintenance, and shipping needs. The right person will enjoy staying active, learning equipment, solving basic operating problems, and taking ownership of safe, accurate work.

Dependable attendance, attention to detail, teamwork, and a willingness to handle both equipment operation and routine plant upkeep are essential to keeping the facility running.

What You’ll Do
  • Receive and route grain from company-owned and customer trucks through the appropriate plant systems.
  • Operate and monitor corn‑cleaning, conveying, color‑sorting, weighing, and packaging equipment.
  • Monitor product flow and finished‑product quality while maintaining food‑grade corn segregation, lot identification, and traceability.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to plugging, spills, contamination concerns, quality problems, and unusual equipment conditions.
  • Support shipment of finished product by truck, rail, and bulk tote, including filling, weighing, labeling, securing, staging, and moving packaged product.
  • Operate forklifts and other authorized material‑handling equipment.
  • Assist with Track mobile operation, railcar movement, and rail loading after completing required training and authorization.
  • Complete scale, production, quality, inventory, and shipping records accurately and on time.
  • Perform equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and general facility upkeep within assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintain processing equipment and work areas through regular cleaning, sanitation, spill removal, and housekeeping.
  • Communicate professionally with coworkers, customers, truck drivers, and other internal and external partners.
  • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe and productive work environment.
  • Support other CVA operations and locations as business needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Why This Job
  • No CDL required
—build an Operations career without a commercial driving requirement.
  • Learn specialized food‑grade corn processing, color‑sorting, packaging, and quality systems.
  • Work across multiple areas of the plant rather than remaining at one station all day.
  • Build practical experience with forklifts, grain‑handling equipment, rail operations, inventory, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Develop skills that can support increased responsibility as your experience, performance, and knowledge grow.
  • Contribute to a growing food‑grade corn market that creates additional value for Nebraska farmers.
  • Join a stable, farmer‑owned cooperative offering full‑time employment and opportunities for additional hours during busy production and shipping periods.
