Schedule:

Weekend, On-call. Daily rate: $120 for on-call coverage and $240 for days when on-site.

The Hampton - Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is currently seeking an Autonomous Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to fill a unique and impactful role. This position conducts weekend medical histories and physical exams (H&Ps) for individuals admitted for crisis stabilization, and provides on-call support for medical needs.

Since 1971, Hampton - Newport News Community Services Board has provided behavioral health services to residents of Hampton and Newport News, Virginia, offering programs for individuals living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders. The BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center opened in 2025, a 20,000+ square foot facility designed to support individuals experiencing acute mental health crises.

Responsibilities include conducting medical histories and physical exams (H&Ps) for patients admitted for crisis stabilization, ensuring assessments are completed within 24 hours of admission. Provide on-call medical support during weekends, with compensation as noted above.
