Supervisor, Nursing​/Patient Care Services - Cardiac, Vascular & IR; Rn

Overview

Sentara Health is hiring a Supervisor, Nursing/Patient Care Services for Cardiac, Vascular, & Interventional Radiology at Sentara Care Plex Hospital in Hampton, VA. This is a full‑time, day shift position.

• Provide leadership to the nursing department and support the manager in overseeing all patient‑care activities on assigned unit(s).
• Ensure high standards of care, coordinate daily nursing activities, and facilitate communication between medical teams.
• Assist with training, mentoring, and performance evaluations of clinical staff.
• Manage patient care assignments and help resolve patient and family concerns.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and safety regulations.
• Assist in staffing decisions, maintain inventory for medical supplies, and ensure the unit is properly equipped for quality care.
• Assist manager with interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining staff members, building a reliable team.
• Coordinate or assist with staff education, orientation, and precepting of new team members.
• Serve as a technical/clinical resource to team members and mentor staff as needed.
• Adapt communication and leadership style to support achieving departmental goals and objectives.

• BSN (Required)

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Required)
• ACLS and BLS within 90 days of hire

• 2 years of previous nursing experience (Required)
• 1 year of nursing leadership experience (Required)
