Responsibilities

Work Schedule:

Monday
- Friday, 9 hours between 7:30am and 5:30pm, with a one hour lunch. No weekends or holidays.

Job Specific Details and Tasks:

  • Initiate, perform and complete assigned duties in providing care to variable patient
  • Complete assigned patient care based on the patients' conditions, use judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments, and accurately recognize, report and record relevant patient
  • Observe, identify and respond to the patient's needs for care, including medication, equipment-assisted care and patient/family
  • Prepare and administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular and/or intravenous) and perform treatments according to established policies/procedures.
  • Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seek assistance of the RN and/or MD/DO, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions as
  • Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests and/or specialized practices or procedures, which include preparing the patient, assisting in the diagnostic examination, preparing and handling specialized instruments or other specialized equipment, and monitoring the patient's condition before, during, and following the
  • Orient peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies and procedures, skills, and standards of
  • Integrate healthy work environment principles that result in improved patient healthcare delivery, education of patients and their families and employee

Additional duties are as follows:

  • Serves as a Practical Nurse performing patient care and nursing administrative duties for outpatients in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and
  • Monitors and records age appropriate physiological
  • Orients new patients to the clinic/hospital
  • Assists with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as
  • Provides individualized patient teaching on appropriate topics to include preventative healthcare and health maintenance.
  • Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic testing, examinations, treatments, and clinical procedures.
  • Performs appropriate portions of medical examinations, treatment, diagnostic, and clinical procedures.
  • Records treatment, procedure rendered, and observed
  • Identifies and records patient problems and appropriately notifies provider/nursing Team of observations.
  • Prepares and administers medications in accordance with scope of practice and training
  • Recognizes and responds to emergencies and performs basic life support
  • Performs appropriate portions of physical examinations including age appropriate physical measurements.
  • Adheres to infection control procedures including use of personal protective equipment, disposal of waste, and aseptic technique.
