Schedule & Hours of OperationOur facility operates between 0530 and 2100. Primary Shift: Daytime hours. Occasional evening shifts are required to support the late‑day surgical schedule. On‑Call:
Participation in a call rotation is required. Specific details regarding call frequency and response times will be discussed during the interview.
- Virginia or Compact Multi‑State License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
RN‑Associate’s Degree, or RN‑Bachelor’s Degree, or RN‑Diploma, or RN‑Master’s Degree.
Position OverviewRegistered Nurse (RN) – Same Day Surgery (Multi‑Specialty). We are seeking a versatile and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Same Day Surgery team. This role is perfect for a clinician who thrives on variety, as you will provide care for a diverse patient population undergoing a wide range of surgical interventions. You will rotate between Pre‑Operative Preparation and PhaseII Recovery/Discharge, serving as a critical link in the patient’s surgical journey from arrival to home‑going.
ClinicalScope
Our center handles a high acuity mix of cases. You will provide specialized perianesthesia care for procedures including, but not limited to:
- Vascular & Oncology
- Orthopedics & General Surgery
- Urology & Gynecology
- Bariatrics
- Pre‑Op Excellence:
Perform comprehensive physical assessments, initiate IV access, and ensure patients are clinically and emotionally prepared for surgery. - Post‑Op Recovery:
Manage PhaseII recovery, focusing on pain management, hemodynamic stability, and surgical site monitoring. - Specialized Care:
Adapt nursing interventions based on the specific needs of the surgical specialty (e.g., mobility protocols for Orthopedics or education for Bariatric patients). - Safe Discharge:
Educate patients and caregivers on post‑operative instructions, medications, and warning signs to ensure a safe transition home.
- Licensure:
Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license. - Certifications:
BLS and ACLS required. - Experience:
Minimum 1‑2 years of RN experience. Background in surgical services, ICU, or ER is strongly preferred. - Skills:
Strong IV skills and the ability to educate patients across various surgical disciplines.
