Psych LPN - Labor Pool - Float Pool

Hiring Range $25.80 - $35.48/Hourly. Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

Schedule

• Work 4 12‑hour shifts per scheduled period.
• At least 2 of the shifts are weekend shifts.
• Work 2 holidays per year.

Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Director and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non‑professional personnel working directly with him or her to ensure optimum patient care.

Must demonstrate competence in dealing with age‑related needs of the specific patient populations served in the nursing unit. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi‑disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.

• Demonstrate ability to assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population.
• Partner with patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient.
• Incorporate evidence‑based standards of practice and collaborate with interdisciplinary team in care coordination.
• Facilitate safe patient transition to next level of care as part of the plan of care.
• Show sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to ensure patient receives consistent, competent, and ethical care.
• Focus on quality outcomes of patient when addressing service needs.
• Understand diverse patient care populations and modify education method to ensure patient/family understanding.
• Coordinate and deliver individualized patient education and discharge education to family or caregivers; evaluate comprehension and document.
• Accurately complete all required clinical and quality documentation per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Delegate and prioritize tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and service excellence.
• Recognize and respond to emergency situations.
• Evaluate resources and support needed and use systems to ensure needs are met.

• Bachelor’s Degree, Nursing (Preferred) or Associate’s Degree, Nursing (Preferred) or Program Graduate, Nursing (Nursing Diploma is minimum education requirement; Associate's or Bachelor's in Nursing accepted in lieu of Nursing Diploma).
• High School Diploma or GED required if Nursing Diploma Graduate.

• 1 year related RN experience (Preferred).

• Registered Nurse (RN) – Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) or licensed in a compact state (Required).
• CPR/BLS Certification – American Heart Association / American Red Cross / American Safety and Health Institute (Required).

• Weekend shifts.
• Irregular shifts.
