Advanced Practice Provider (FNP & PMHNP) – Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center

Riverside Health Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and dual-certified Advanced Practice Provider (Family Nurse Practitioner & Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) or Physician Assistant to join our team at the Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center in Hampton, VA.

Position Overview

This full-time role consists of three 12-hour shifts per week, with no on-call responsibilities. The provider will focus on psychiatric emergency care, including crisis intervention and potential inpatient psychiatric admissions. Additional shifts may be available for those interested in supplemental compensation.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Licensure:

  • Nurse Practitioner:
    Master's in Nursing, current NP license, and board certification (FNP & PMHNP)
  • Physician Assistant:
    Master's degree and current PA license
  • Eligible for Virginia state medical licensure
  • Valid DEA registration

Preferred Experience &

Skills:

  • Independent clinical decision-making
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and treating common psychiatric and medical conditions
  • Familiarity with managed care and Medicare populations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Basic computer literacy

Scope of Practice

  • Conduct comprehensive physical and psychiatric assessments
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Provide patient education and counseling
  • Prescribe and evaluate treatments
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
