Supervisor Store Associate
Overview
The Supervisory Store Associate serves as the second line supervisor and manager of the Front-End Department of a Commissary store. The incumbent is fully responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling, coordinating and controlling front-end activities and personnel, and for controlling all funds received and deposited daily as part of the front-end department operations.
ResponsibilitiesThe position includes the following responsibilities:
- Plans, directs, or assigns work for employees.
- Knowledgeable of multiple departments within a grocery store to evaluate work, provide instruction and conduct on-the-job training for workers.
- Carries out daily retail grocery store functions necessary to successfully execute store operations.
To be considered, applicants must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date, as well as the following experience:
- One (1) year of demonstrated specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level. Experience can be under other federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. Examples of specialized experience include:
- Plans, directs, or assigns work for employees.
- Knowledgeable of multiple departments within a grocery store to evaluate work, provide instruction, and conduct on the job training for workers.
- Carry out daily retail grocery store functions necessary to successfully execute store operations.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Physical Requirements- Stand, stoop, kneel, bend and climb for prolonged periods.
- Lift, push, pull, carry, and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds independently and occasionally over 40 pounds with assistance.
