Retail Sales Associate
Company Cox Communications, Inc. is hiring a Retail Sales Associate (Solutions Specialist Mobile) at an individual contributor level. This role requires working in a Cox retail store location, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation- Hourly pay: $15.29 – $22.88/hour (variable based on location and experience)
- Annual incentive/commission target: $15,348.00
- Targeted total compensation: $49,418 (average), with high earners averaging $63,655 annually. Variable total compensation may vary with location, experience, and sales targets.
- Full‑time hourly base rate: $16.38/hour with monthly targeted commissions of $1,279.
- Ramp period up to 2months to adjust to commission earnings.
- Explain and demonstrate product capabilities and offer suggestions based on customer wants and needs.
- Meet or exceed targets regarding customer experience, sales, and retention.
- Assist with the opening/closing of the store retail environment.
- Properly handle cash.
- Engage in workshops, special events, and product demos.
- Support fellow sales agents when needed.
- Continuously expand knowledge of current Cox products and competitor offerings via regular training classes.
- May be required to work in other locations within the same geographical area.
- Minimum: HS diploma/GED or up to 2years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to meet established sales, retention, and customer experience targets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively sell products using a consultative solution‑based approach.
- Ability to build relationships and adapt to a diverse customer base.
- Ability to multi‑task and prioritize in a fast‑paced, service‑oriented team environment.
- Ability to be mobile within the store for long periods of time.
- Computer literacy with an aptitude for learning communication products, services, and accessories.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to lift 25–50 pounds.
- Preferred: some college experience in sales, business or management.
- One year of experience in a related field (e.g., sales, retail sales, service industry).
- Experience selling wireless/mobile products.
- Fluency in Spanish, both written and spoken.
