What You Will DoYou will install, maintain, and troubleshoot field‑based electronic and communication systems that support traffic operations and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
Key Responsibilities- Install, program, repair, and maintain ITS and traffic control equipment
- Troubleshoot field devices, including:
- Traffic signal controllers
- CCTV cameras and pan‑tilt systems
- Dynamic/message signs
- Ethernet switches, PLCs, and network equipment
- Maintain fiber optic, wireless, and IP‑based communication networks
- Perform preventive maintenance and system diagnostics
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, plans, and technical schematics
- Use electronic and fiber optic testing equipment to identify issues
- Support system upgrades and new deployments
- Coordinate with technicians and project teams to resolve field issues
- Respond to emergency call‑outs when needed
- Experience with traffic systems, ITS, or roadway infrastructure
- Familiarity with fiber optics, networking (IP/Ethernet), or wireless systems
- Experience working with electronics, communications systems, or field‑based technical equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic systems
- Comfortable working with tools, test equipment, and computers
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Experience working outdoors or in field service role
- Ability to read technical diagrams or schematics
- Work on critical infrastructure that impacts thousands of people daily
- Build highly transferable technical skills in communications, networking, and controls
