Job Summary
The Traffic Signal Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of traffic signal systems to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow. This role involves working with various electrical and electronic components, conducting inspections, and collaborating with engineering teams to implement system upgrades and improvements. This position is bonus eligible.
ResponsibilitiesInstallation and Maintenance
- Install, maintain, and repair traffic signal systems including traffic lights, pedestrian signals, and associated infrastructure.
- Must understand traffic signal phasing, loop detection, various camera detection systems, pedestrian push buttons, radio and fiber communications as well as terminating in controller cabinet and the field.
- Must be able to communicate with other traffic signal agencies (VDOT, various cities and counties) and vendors as needed.
Troubleshooting
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with traffic signal equipment, including electrical malfunctions, signal timing problems
