PEMCCO is seeking a Master Electrician to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve electrical systems and equipment supporting transportation operations. Job Overview

As a Master Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining electrical wiring systems, power distribution equipment, and related electrical components in accordance with the National Electrical Code and industry standards. You'll diagnose electrical problems, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspect systems for safety and performance, and ensure electrical equipment remains reliable and operational.

This role requires a strong understanding of electrical theory, electrical troubleshooting, installation practices, and system diagnostics. You'll work independently and collaboratively to support critical infrastructure in a fast-paced and safety-focused environment.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain electrical wiring systems and electrical components in accordance with the National Electrical Code and industry standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Diagnose electrical failures and determine appropriate repair solutions.
  • Inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify deficiencies, safety concerns, and maintenance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot, isolate, test, and repair electrical malfunctions using specialized testing equipment.
  • Assemble, install, maintain, and repair electrical apparatus and related systems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical load centers and distribution systems.
  • Plan layouts and wiring for new or existing electrical installations.
  • Fabricate electrical components and inspect completed work for quality and code compliance.
  • Estimate labor, materials, and project costs for electrical work.
  • Evaluate contractor work and verify compliance with specifications and safety requirements.
  • Maintain and service tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Support traffic monitoring and control system operations as needed.
  • Respond safely and effectively during emergency situations and system outages.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current Master Electrician license.
  • Minimum of two years of field experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems up to and including 480 VAC three-phase systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical theory, methods, materials, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with transportation, roadway, traffic monitoring, or traffic control systems.
  • Experience working in industrial, utility, municipal, or infrastructure environments.
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Experience operating bucket trucks and working at heights.
