Electrician – Project Support. 10‑to‑12‑month contract, 40‑50 hours per week, onsite at the Surry Nuclear plant. Report to the site Manager.

As an Industrial Electrician, you will support modifications to the control room in a nuclear power plant.

The essential functions of this position consist of spending long periods in standing, walking, climbing, lifting, carrying, twisting, kneeling, stooping, bending, and crouching. Work may require handling equipment from 1 to 100 lbs and may be performed in confined spaces, high‑temperature areas, and elevated heights. The position involves medium to heavy physical demands, frequent standing, walking, and reaching with arms.

• Journeyman Electrician or NCCER Industrial electrician certification or equivalent with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Experience in new construction and maintenance modifications, including:
    • Installation/fabrication of conduit and supports
    • Installation of copper and fiber cables
    • Cable terminations and modifications
    • Installation of power and control panels/switch gear
    • Ability to use a multimeter including Live‑Dead‑Live
    • Raychem splicing of low voltage
    • Electrical safe work practices
    • Clearance order verifications
    • Temporary power installation
    • Experience in nuclear power as JM electrician
    • Must be able to read, write, speak and take tests in English without an interpreter or accommodations per US nuclear requirement
